Re: Ensatas


This species ensata is just starting to bloom, here. I've been
crossing it to several Versicolors still blooming. Maybe I'll try
growing a piece of it in the greenhouse next year to see if I can
get pollen earlier, when most Versis are still blooming.

I have three clumps thriving in 5"-6" (15cm) sand on top of old
clay garden which used to get too wet for potatoes before building
up. It seems to grow better in the sand than it did directly in
the clay soil which was frequently too wet.
