I have an iris labled as Iris bulleyanna that is blooming now that
does not seem to fit the descriptions. I am wondering if it might be
a hybrid with I. chrysographes. It was from the SIGNA seed exchange
03J044 or 03J043 (I mixed up the lables to know if it was the one
from China collected seed or seed once removed from China collected
seed (i.e. from a seedling from China collected seed.)
I have taken a nice photo of it and sized it down for sending it to
you all but cannot figure out how to send the photo!
The flower is very dark purple with a stunning gold strip (line)
coming out of the throat and almost no other markings. The longest
leaf is 20" tall, but most are 16-18" tall. The flower is about 16"
at the top of the flower. (It started blooming two days ago - a good
week after the Iris setosa. The summer has been very cool so far,
but that is better than hot - so I am not complaining much.)
Any help would be wonderful in any of these areas of confusion.
