Iris from Oregon

I was asked to identify this iris. It was grown from seed collected
in the wild in Oregon and has been passed around the gardener's family
for quite a few years. The flowers are mauve, but I haven't seen them.

It looks like an Evansia to me, but tenuis is supposed to be branched,
with only one flower at the end of each branch. There are two seed
pods on the unbranched stems of this plant.

It looks like cristata, but Oregon is a long way from its native
territory.

Any other ideas?
