Believe it or not, but I still don't have a copy of the SIGNA
checklist unpacked but I am guessing that it is being misread. The
annotation following a cross is supposed to be in brackets and not
parentheses and does not refer to the last plant listed in the cross
but is a restatement of the cross itself giving the parents by their
botanical names. This was done so that one could quickly see which
species are involved so one does not have to look up each cultivar name
to discover its botanical identity.--Bob Pries.
