The flowers will last a couple of days, but the bloom season will last a couple of weeks. It's fun having an iris blooming on the 4th of July! :-)

You mean like these? All were in bloom yesterday in the Upper Peninsula (of Michigan). You're just living at the wrong latitude! Peak versicolor bloom in the wild was this week, more or less.
