Re: small SIB seedling

Ken,

Most Shafer/Sacks Siberians look like they have been selected for wider
flaring falls, more modern horizontal flowers. The smaller, less
completely filled out, more species like flowers on my small, tall
seedling are appealing to me because the empty space between falls makes
them appear more miniature, and when they are tall enough having the
falls fall and the standards stand adds to their visibility.

But it is the miniature size of the flowers, number of flowers and
height of the plant that are appealing. I was hoping maybe there were
some tall, miniature flowered Siberian species selections or crosses out
there.

The other thing was that I don't remember my tall, small seedling being
so tall when its clump was only a few years old. It was only after
growing undisturbed for 10-12 years that it seemed to grow taller.

I'll try cultivating my tall, small seedling, and pay more visits to my
old garden volunteer plants to work with I have for now.

Thanks for your help,
