If Oron Petri's photo had been taken under sunny conditions, I think it would look similar some of Rafael Diez Dominguez's pictures in the SIGNA database. There does seem to be some distinct variation for this species. My plant was grown from J&J Archibald seed collected in Cuenca, Spain at 1200m. It will be interesting if there is much variation in that seed lot. I have one more plant to bloom this year (hopefully not while I'm in Vermont for a long weekend over the 10th) and quite a few other seedlings that should bloom in subsequent years.

Pretty amazing to see both Ken Walker and Oron Peri posted photos of this rare Iris. Orion’s was on Facebook and a lower res than Ken’s but I find it fun to see quite a striking difference in flower color.
