I'm stoked! I applied PCN pollen and prismatica pollen onto lots of versicolor flowers and I got lots of pods. Tonight I just harvested the first half dozen pods and they're filled with seeds. Christmas in July? Yes please! <3The PCN pollen was courtesy of some growers out in San Francisco. The prismatica pollen was fresh out of my garden. I've still got 3-4 dozen pods out there on Siberians, tridentata, versicolor, brevicaulis, foetidissima and tectorum. (Tectorum ripens slllllllllllllow.) Most of them are wide crosses, except for the brevicaulis -- those are straight-up LA. This year was GREAT for me. I'll be donating lots to SIGNA Seed Exchange. But I'm selfishly keeping the good stuff. ;-) Dennis in Cincinnati |
