Re: Flowers at G20, was Iris x norrisii

Dear all: I still haven’t seen any clear enlargements of the G20 bouquets, but sometimes experts can recognize a plant by its gestalt — the “impression” of the sum of its traits. After notes from Jim Waddick and Jim Murrain, I’m betting that:

— the pale blue flowers are some cultivar of Delphinium elatum — see the Delphinium Society’s gallery here http://www.delphinium-society.co.uk/DelphiniumGallery.html . The stems in the vases are short; they must have been trimmed.

— the cream flowers are a Cymbidium orchid. There are so many species and cultivars that I haven’t tried to track this further.

Thank you, Jim and Jim.
