Last year I had another seedling bloom at the end of April. I had one from a different seed lot bloom earlier this year, but he blossom wasn't good enough to photograph. I didn't note the date, but it was several months ago.

I have a number of seedlings of Iris trojana that came from seeds out of Turkey. Unexpectedly, one decided to put up its maiden stalk in July. I'm attaching a photo. The stalk has one very low branch and one about half way up.
