West Virginia DNR web site which considers Iris pseudacorus to be one of the top 12 invasives.
Hi Dennis,
I have trouble keeping I. pseudacorus in my garden because the borers love it so much. However, there is a small lake near us which is completely ringed with it in the edge of the water. Apparently, the borers can't do their dirty work while the plants are in water.

This aggressive behavior is really starting to turn me off of this species! I might just have to toss it from my garden all together... it's surprising to me that our native irises just can't compete with it.
