Although wonders never cease, I would find it hard to believe that Blue-eyed grass would have anything to do with Iris borer. There are several species and hybrid cultivars of Sisyrinchium but I know of no cold hardy species that would be able to produce rhizomes big enough to harbor Iris borers. They do start quite small but it would seem unlikely that at that small size they would be able to migrate from Blue-eyed grass rhizomes to Iris rhizomes. I don't think the borers could get large enough in the Blue-eyed grass to mature so it seems unlikely as an alternate host.
