Ellen I wasn't suggesting that the species name was wrong for your plant, I hadn't seen your plant. But the way this website portrays it one would think that is the only species accross the country and what Dorothy has in her garden may be different although look similar.

Who, among us, doubts this? The point was NOT the Sisyrinchium
botanical name but to show a photo of the 'blue-eyed grass' that
some of us might encounter in our gardens.

I know, authoritatively, that this is the Sisyrinchium species
that grows on my property in the mountains of Northern New
Hampshire. I have seen the same species variant growing in
Eastern Canada.
