Hi everyone,
I just joined the group. I gave up on iris-talk and iris-photos some
time ago
because I couldn't keep up with the volume. This group looks more
manageable.
In 2000, I bought what was supposed to be Iris wilsonii. I expected it
to be
a single clone. The first flower that it produced was a nice purple
(!?!) with
lots of yellow in the signal area. I year or two later, it produced a
different
bloom that was also basically purple, but with dingier colors. At that
point,
I thought I had two clones, both of which were I. wilsonii hybrids. When I
divided it, I started a second clump of what I thought was each of the
clones.
However, today one of those bloomed yellow with horizontal falls! I don't
know what chance there is that this last one is pure I. wilsonii, but
it, at least,
looks plausible to me. I'm attaching a photo.
