I should have checked the archives. I remembered which I. pallida
clone incorrectly. Makes a big difference! I think I only saw the
one photo that looks like 'Quaker Lady', I was having problems with Yahoo at the
time, but I'll go back and look at the others.
I think it is very interesting to see how different a hybrid can look from
either parent, and I think this is a good example. It's too bad that more
detailed records aren't available for most of the old diploid hybrids to see
just what their ancestry really way.
