Awesome info with the seeds, Ken! Those photos are great! Do you know if
virginica var. shrevei seeds are distinguishable from virginica var. virginica?
(Am I correct in even calling it virginica var. virginica??!)
And on another note... would it be possible to distinguish versicolor &
virginica & shrevei by their rhizomes? I seem to recall getting a
virginica years back that had big hairy orangeish-green rhizomes... like a
Louisiana iris. But I could be mistaken, maybe it was Little
Caillet? Ahhh... the memory fails when you get to be my age. LOL.
