Yes, same clones. Got them from Joe Pye Weed's. The bloom is just starting and I'll get lots of pictures...

You better take lots of photos!!  I couldn't imagine hundreds of Iris tridentata in bloom!

Are yours the same clones?  grown from seed?  or what?  Since mine were all grown from seed I'm expecting to get a variety of colors.  I should have purples, blues, whites, and pinks.  But it'll be at least another year or two before I can find out.

I bought tridentata plants in 1999 and they were very slow to get going. in 2003 I had enough to line them out so I moved them from a bed facing south with some afternoon shade to a bed facing south with no shade. They've turned into monsters! I probably have 500 of them and they're just starting to bloom...should be a pretty sight in a few days... I keep them mulched, fertilize them with 15-15-15 2-3 time each year and make sure they get an inch of water each week.

I'm pleased to report that after numerous failures I've finally been
able to germinate Iris tridentata.  My trick was to plant the seeds
in pots in the pond.  The pots were situated so that the seeds were
about half an inch above water, with a layer of gravel on top to help
suppress weeds.  I used regular seed starter mix from Home Depot as
my "soil".

They were planted last year (spring & summer).  A couple days ago I
finally noticed a flush of seedlings have germinated in several of
the pots.  Each pot contains tridentata seeds from different sources.
So I am very, very happy about this!  In the past I could not keep
Iris tridentata alive for more than 2 years, but I've never tried
them in my pond.  Maybe that will be the key to success?
