You are wright I. dykesii is a hybrid, main are different (I hope it would come into flower  a little bid later this year), anyway it is a nice iris!

This is a picture of the first bloom on a seedling from SIGNA seeds
02J053.
The seeds are supposed to be Iris dykesii. That "species" was probably a
hybrid
to start with and plants now grown under that name are appearently different
from the original specimin. Oh well, an iris by any other name...
