Thanks for the information.  Sounds like a good way to germinate many of the "reluctant" seeds - peony come to mind.  I will try it the next time I have Iris seeds, though.  Right now I am dealing with Juno seeds in pots - just being very patient.  There is always Paul Christian - just received his catalogue - he has plants that make one willing to take a second mortgage!!
