What an interesting flower. It looks bearded, and I assume it
requires a sunny spot to bloom?

Diane in Victoria B.C. Canada, who has bearded iris that haven't
bloomed in 20 years or more, except if a tree blows down, one will
bloom the next year or two till the canopy fills in again.
