When I was sent rudskyi, I was told the
leaves curl and fold down to the ground when in bloom, but I haven't
seen that happen here.
The other thing was in some years, the rhizome
totally disappears after bloom. It did that the year I had to
move it from the nursery bed, so I was glad I'd marked it on 3
sides. I just scooped up the soil down a few inches with my shovel,
replanted it where it is now, and hoped for the best. whew!
It's a nice sized clump now. I'll try to take a picture when more
flowers are in bloom. Perhaps it'll be dry enough by then for me to step
into that bed.
Yes, I grow lots of lilies too. Right now,
only my few martagons are setting buds. The asiatic &
orienpet lilies seem slow to come up this year, but the weather has
been erratic, to say the least.
When I checked back re last year's pictures, looks
like my martagons started mid July.
