I was waiting for you to mention the difference in the 2 v reginae, Bob.  :) 
 
I got mine from Chuck, and get lots of visitors that come just to see it in bloom.  It's right next to I croatica, so just imagine the conversations those 2 have.
 
The colour on my rudskyi could be slightly off.

It is interesting to see the differences between John's clone and was it El's clone of variegata reginae. They both fall within the variablility that I would expect from Iris reginae. The I. rudskyi that El showed looks quite different from the rudskyi that is pictured with Horvats original description. The typical is very reddish on both the standards and falls. What El has may still be rudskyi but it seems to be a rather unusual form and/or it may not be rudskyi at all. With out having seen native populations it is hard to know the range of variability.
