Re: Lars' attachments

Morning all.

Jamie, I was only talking about the actual photo attachments, not those empty little files.  I'll have to check out Modzilla.

I'm just waiting for more of Lars awesome species photos, plus everyone else's.  I've been enjoying them all immensely.  :)

El,

I don't think this is a new issue related to Yahoo, although some may now encounter it as a result.  It has to do with the Mail software of the sender in relation to the receivers software.  I use Modzilla software, which is free, as I always have problems with Microsoft, which tends to screw-up my other software.  Modzilla is very 'neutral' and to be recommended, IMO.

In the end, one simply need to recognize these empty attachments for what they are; residue from previous attachments.

Last year, I think it was, Yahoo changed how pictures are attached to email.
Sometimes they come in as an attachment, sometimes they're embedded in the
email, and sometimes you have to click on a link at the bottom of the email,
or even a thumbnail to see the pictures at the Yahoo website itself. Too
odd, to be sure.

I sent an attachment to another Yahoo group the other day. It came in
duplicate no less, and the attachment for each was different. One was
embedded in the email, the other was an actual attachment. I had just
dragged my picture into the email, as I've always done.

The moderator could set the way pictures are viewed, but it may be a
complicated process.

Besides the tiny images (that amount to nothing) in Lars' emails, my
regular imaging program cannot open his real photo files, even though
they are .JPG. There is something different about them. I remedied the
situation by using a different program to open his files. Microsoft
Paint works, and I also have the free Photofiltre image program that can
open his attachments.

Am I the only one who cannot see Lars pictures with this post. I use

Irfanview to view and manipulate pictures and with these I get only
the
header?
