Thanks Carol.  Mine also won best specimen for that class.  I'd originally taken it as so many people have never seen a species iris before.  During a regular year, it often wouldn't be blooming in time to take to our iris show.

I entered it under species as I. variegata forma reginae.

Congratulation to all of you. My plant has just started blooming here.  Did you both enter this under species?

I did the same, Chuck, and won a 1st with it.

My husband also entered iris in today's show for the first time ever.  He won best specimen in the MTB's with Ace.

We had 100 stems entered, which is very good, considering our horrid weather over the last few weeks.

My wife, Heather, was persuaded to enter a stalk of her Reginae into our iris show today. Her clump grows on north side of house, so  was near peak. My garden is about a week  or better past peak. She entered it as species. She won best of show with her  one entry. Beating out yours truly.

I would think, depending on the people staffing the show and interpretations, you could get away with

Species
Miniature Tall Bearded
Historic

assuming those are represented in the show.

I'd like to take my I Varigatae Reginae to our local iris show tomorrow, but can't tell which section & class it should go under, as it's not a beardless species.  The only class for species in the show are Species or Species X.

Thanks!
