Re: Spuria?

Friends,

Several years ago someone sent me a generous amount of seed, which he thought was Pseud. white, but when they bloomed I am confident is Spuria alba, or whatever. My bloom season is ending and I did not take a photo, but mine seems to be the same as Lars' and El's photo. If mine set seed, they will be open pollinated, but I will send some to the exchange.

Subject: SV: [iris-species] Spuria?

Hi El,

I am sure it is a spuria. Here is similar one â the picture is taken today. This one has been grown from seed. It is setting seed every year, and the colour is constant.

Med venlig hilsen / Kind regards

This beauty was bloomng when I got home today.  It was given to me by a friend who says it's the first iris she saw as a child, growing around her Mother's and aunt's country places for well over 50 yrs.  That's about 60 or so miles west of here.

Does it look like a species spuria?
