Re: Spuria?

I'm back from my trek into Winnipeg.  Jim was right and it poured so hard I could barely see on the highway heading home a little while ago.  I did remember to look for the sign that tells us we are just passing the longitude & latitude centre of Canada, near Landmark, Manitoba.  :)

I'm just taking a little break before going back to the garage to take pictures of the one remaining good flower, more yellow than mine.  I dashed back out in the rain and got a flower from the white one, a few days old to compare.

The box was very heavy as it's also a couple of chunks of the surrounding grass.  I'll get the flower pix though before I try removing the iris from the cardboard box and take pictures again before I clean it all up.

I quickly stopped at another friend's place on the way home, even though it was pouring.  We dashed about her garden, gorgeous with lots of TB's, then she gave me a lovely yellow ladyslipper, rescued from the ditch, still blooming in an old grocery bag.

We've already had well over 9" of rain in May, most of it within a one week period, with flooding in Southern Manitoba.  It's rained almost every day in June too.

No more rain for a while, please.
