I didn't see this one come thru, so I'm sending it

virginica was Spuria?
Evening all.
This afternoon, I went to see the iris that was
found growing in the bush at my friend's place. The husband had moved
one into their garden a few years back, so that's the one in the picture from
the other day. Even though the one remaining flower was about to fade, I
knew at once it's I versicolor and not virginica.
I'll have to go back next year and see this iris
blooming in the bush, as I've never seen it do that in the places I've seen it
growing, in lake country, near water.

For what it's worth, this versicolor opened
yesterday in our zone 4b garden. I've tried Virginica many times and it
simply isn't hardy enough for this area.

My friend sent a picture of the iris they
have growing in their bush. It looks like I versicolor to me,
although it's not a great photo.
