That plate shows the two flowers very nicely. From what I recall,
though, when my cristata have produced two flowers the second bud
doesn't emerge from the spathe until the first flower is done. I might
be wrong, though... does anyone know otherwise? I've seen two flowers
per stem on 'Powder Blue Giant' and an alba form. Lacustris has never
produced two buds in my garden and I've never noticed it in the wild.
However, lacustris usually reblooms, sometimes in significant numbers,
anywhere from July to September, which cristata has never done for me.
I've seen late-blooming lacustris in the wild, too.
