Re: what a nice surprise

Yes, this seems very likely for PCIs. Weeks of warm dry weather followed by cool wet weather, then warm and dry again, could trigger these iris to stop and restart flowering.  Your weather is quite similar to ours, so your PCIs should think they are 'home' and behave similarly.

Well, During the weeks I was away, weather was not too cold but rainning every another day, so that may be the reason, I didnt know this iris and I wonder if I could be a remontant or something similar, but I  think you and Mark are right, weather can do that, and unfortunely  now a days you never know what you can expect  to the next season
I live by the atlantic coast , nortwest of Spain, weather is wet and and cool winters and moderate hot summers

When temperatures gyrate around, and dry spells alternate with wet, PCIs can stop and start flowering. I don't know what your weather was like between March and June, if weather was erratic, this could promote erratic flowering in your PCIs.

I recently visited USA and coming back I got  a nice surprise when I saw one of my irises, CN  Mendocino Banner, was in bloom again, it was in March  the first time and now in June, I would like to know if this is something unusual. I send two photos where you can see the new flowers and the pod with seeds from the former bloosom.
