2013 Siberian/Species Iris Convention

I had a wonderful time at the convention in Lansing this weekend. I got
to see lots of old familiar faces and meet plenty of new ones! For me
this convention was ALL about the people... the gorgeous flowers were
just a bonus.

It was delightful to just sit & listen to people... to hear those
nuggets of wisdom dropping all around... to hear about the crazy spec-x
people are developing... to hear about the unbelievable species people
are growing... to get schooled on genetics. In a word, this convention
was INSPIRING.

Attached is a pic of Iris laevigata 'Lakeside Ghost' which was voted the
most popular Iris species cultivar by all the conventioneers. I think
you can see why!
