Hi folks, Here are two photos of I. kerneriana, a short spuria probably pretty close to graminea. I got two pieces from Seneca Hill Perennials, Ellen Hornig’s now-closed nursery, about four years ago. It took me a while to find a spot it liked,
but this spring it finally bloomed for me. I was home for only 36 hours between a conference on Cape Cod my wife attended, and leaving for the Siberian & Species convention in Lansing, and there it was. The clump shot shows a little context; it’s about
12-14” tall, with the blossoms blooming just out of the foliage. Two buds per bloom stalk, unfortunately no pods were set. Ants like the open blossoms. Ken |
