Probably, but I think people miss out on bloom because of it. It may not matter so much in warmer climates, but mine are in pots are shy to bloom. I don't remember where I first read to leave the stalks but it was probably in SIGNA.

I suppose they cut the stalks off the grandiflora immediately after bloom at my local conservatory.

Yes, I believe it's a feature of all the Dietes. Certainly it is for this and grandiflora.

It has bloomed on the same stalks year after year.

The flower stalks are actually perennial? Neat!
