I wouldn't be surprised if you could grow paradoxa and some of the other oncos, especially if you have a warm location by a building or regular snow cover. These were all completely unharmed this winter under snow with multiple nights down to -25 to -30ÂC for hours. Those that were already in growth remained evergreen. Normally for me they're unharmed down to -20ÂC with no snow cover.

And some Oncocyclus:Âiberica ssp. lycotis and paradoxa f. atrata. The latter is difficult to photograph - in shade or on cloudy days it looks as it does in the photo, but in full sun the standards appear as dark as the falls so the entire flower is satiny dark purple-black.
