Several years ago I received and grew seeds of what is putatively Iris chrysographes. It’s been slow to flower, and for the last two years has put up flower stalks with colored buds (too lightly colored to be this species I suspect), but I’m more bothered by the fact that the buds whither before opening, see attached photo. The bud on the left is starting to go moribund. The one on the right still looks pretty good. A week ago, all the buds look OK. Today, about 1/4. Can anyone tell me what is happening to this iris? Does it have a virus? Should I yank it out ASAP? Kathleen |
