Been overworked the last few days so behind on e-mails. This picture is very likely germanica and very unlikely kochii. Kochii is dwarfer and is darker in color, more red tint and less of a bicolor. Maybe will get caught up in a day or two. Cheers. Bob

This iris I am also growing as gremanica. The original source for this one was also the Bermingham (Ala.) botanical garden.
In about two thirds sun, it grows stalks approximately 2 feet tall.
It produces a branch about a third to halfway of up the stalk.
It usually produces a spur between the one branch and the terminal bud.
The branch always produces only one terminal bud and the terminal bud on the stalk has not produced more than one bud.
It routinely blooms end of March at my latitude.
The photo color is a little off and should have perhaps more red and less blue in the tints.
Can this be germanica/aphylla/Kochii? Comments/input/opinions appreciated.
Southerners are slow but sometime methodical in their learning processes.
