The white form is not hardy in Ottawa, but the blue-violet form grows extremely well.
It may be a microclimate problem peculiar to my street; Gardens North is able to keep the white form going and their weather, even 10 miles further south, has got to be colder than somewhat-central Ottawa.

It also grows well here in Boise Idaho Zone 5. We are considered semi arid
in the summer but can be cold in the winter with little snow cover.
