Re: Iris sanguinea ?

Hi Yuri,

Great comparisons of Iris sanguinea.....The photos of the 'ones' (1a. and 1b.) are so beautiful...Iris sanguinea is special in how it 'presents' itself in different areas ... and the fact that these two are so close in distance is intriguing.

You are a member of the Sibrob (Siberian discussion group on Yahoo-groups) and I think that the members would be very interested in seeing them. Did Eugeny Tarasov obtain any seeds?

Thanks,

p.s. if you don't want to post to Sibrob, may I have your permission to forward your post?

Jim and Will,
sorry, I send them directly. Photos by Eugeny Tarasov.

These irises were found at Russian Far East (Primorie region, near Vladivostok) only in 75 miles one from another.
The common opinion is such that only Iris sanguinea exists at Russian Far East, but who can imagine that these irises are the same species!
