'Contraband Girl'

Anyone know the origin of the supposedly tetraploid Iris virginica 'Contraband Girl'? It was pointed out on the Pacific Bulb Society forum that 'Contraband Girl' is already the registered name of a Louisiana:
(Duplechain, R. 1953) Louisiana, 36" (91 cm), M Lavender-pink self (Fischer RV5), orange-yellow signal. Collected. It's surely not the same plant even if the species have been confused, as the virginica is supposedly six feet tall. Sean Z |
