Re: most popular irids

I love all this feedback! It's better than I expected. So I couldn't keep it down to just 10 irids. Your responses proved there's too many other popular ones out there, more than I ever knew.

I kept the Top 4 as Crocus, Freesia, Gladiolus, and Crocosmia. Each of these has a well documented history of cultivation & hybridization going back to the 19th century. They tend to be more cold hardy than other genera, and so they are grown by more gardeners in more places than the tropical irids.

Then second tier of 12 are: Babiana, Chasmanthe, Dierama, Dietes, Ixia, Ferraria, Moraea, Neomarica, Romulea, Sisyrinchium, Sparaxis, and Tigridia. These seem to have a shorter history, but are certainly popular & widely available today. There's even more genera that could be included here, but I decided to cut it off at 12. At least for now. I omitted Solenomelus which I originally thought was a contender, but these others are clearly "bigger".

I'm also giving more attention to Xiphiums, Reticulatas, and Junos (which are all in Genus Iris now). They deserve that recognition, too.

I hope to have the new changes published by April 1.

Thanks, everybody!
