Re: low temp for tectorum seedlings?

Yes, it was tetraploid TB and diploid tectorum cross.

In parallel I'm working with tectorum seedlings that I'm trying to induce to tetraploidy with oryzalin treatment.  I should know by next month if it worked.  It would be lovely to have fully tetraploid "paltec" type hybrids.

What frustrates me about the light frost damaging (killing?) my seedlings is that they were pretty big already.... from 2 to 4 inches tall.  It wasn't like they were day-old seedlings or something.  It's still too soon to tell if they'll survive.

Sigh,

I would not have expected the hybrids to be killed by such a light frost.
Are these hybrids from tetraploid TB x diploid tectorum?

I was dismayed today to find my tectorum-bearded hybrid seedlings seem to have been killed by cold.  the temps have only dropped to about 30 and only for a an hour or two right before sunrise.  the straight bearded seedlings are fine.  i never in a million years would have thought the tectorum were too tender.  i'm going to be soooo upset if they are dead.  but the foliage looks completely zapped.
