foetidissima seedlings

I was pleased to get some seeds from my variegated Iris foetidissima last
season. They've nearly all sprouted, but not a single seeding is
variegated. I've read that using a variegated plant as the pod parent
increases the chance of success. Is there any kind of ratio one would
expect to see in the offspring? I only got about 10 seeds, so I guess I
shouldn't have had high expectations.
