variegata X suaveolens mellita

Thought I'd share this recent picture. It's of a nice
seedling I got from using refrigerated pollen of Iris
suaveolens mellita, on Iris variegata (Beardsley
clone). It increases very fast, is healthy and is very
fertile both as seed and pollen parent. I have already
used it extensively in diploid bearded crosses and
plan on using it more.
It is being evaluated for introduction by Iris City
Gardens and will be registered as a species-X named
'Clown Pants'. Don't ask about the name -- I needed to
choose two alternate names, so I put down whatever
came to mind. Who'd of thought the first choice would
have been taken. Ha, ha.
