As Dean and Christy said "not a laevigata" but is in the
Siberian 'family'. If no branching, it is I. sanguinea but the
photo appeared to be a branch. (Bob Pries tells us that all
Siberians   are usually Iris sanguinea in 'The Siberian Iris',
Spr. 2003, p.30 - the reddish bracts of sanguinea  are quite
visible in the photo). The stout stems are more often on
tetraploid Sibes in my experience. How big are the flowers? It
bears a strong resemblance to Hollingworth's 'High Standards'
for one.
 
Whatever. Enjoy your lovely flower and it might be good for
breeding.
