The first of the newest group of iris seedlings
from I. setosa canadensis X I. siberica 'Flight of Butterflies' is open.
Unlike the setosa which has almost no standards, this seedling is showing perfectly formed and obvious little standards. The signal is also unlike the setosa. Instead of the clearly defined markings, this is considerably busier like the siberica.
BTW, this is one of the F2s and it has a bunch of nice fluffy pollen. More seedlings are budded and a few are beginning to open. :-)
