Re: Dottie's Double

Dottie is Dorothy Worrel, no relation to Jack who's name is spelled with one r, not two. I can't remember where in Ohio she lived, and I haven't heard from her in ages, but I'll keep an eye out and hope to find it in my clutter one of these days.     Joan Cooper

Wow!  That's quite exciting.  I didn't realize it was collected... let alone collected in Ohio.  What was the specific location?  I had several blooms on my clump this year.  All were perfectly single, so I suspect I have an imposter.  I grow it on the margin of my pond, so it should be thoroughly happy there.

This has been sitting in my in-box for quite a while waiting for a reply. I introduced Dottie's Double which is a collected Iris virginica shrevei from Ohio. I don't recall it ever having a single flower, but that doesn't mean it never did. I'm pretty sure Jack Worrel has it though he didn't list it this year. He is     Holly Lane Iris Gardens, 10930 Holly Lane, Osseo, MN 55369            (763) 420-4876

My clump of "Dottie's Double" is starting to bloom but the first flower
seems perfectly single to me.  Is this normal?

today)
