Iris tectorum alba


This is looking a little worse for wear, but it's still a pretty flower.  A 
few weeks ago I posted a photo of Iris cristata with droopy falls.  I 
commented that it reminded me of Iris tectorum.  This photo of Iris 
tectorum should make it obvious as to why...

One thing I've noticed about Iris tectorm vs. Iris cristata is that 
tectorum is a clumper whereas cristata is a spreader.  In this respect I. 
tectorum is much more well behaved in a garden bed.
