From the photo your camera seems to be auto fucus and to use center focus and metering. If you examine the central leaf just under the bloom that appears to be where the camera is focused.
Take care to see that the center of the photo is on the bloom and that it is centered on the brightest part of the bloom. This should solve both the metering and focus problem.
