I agree!  And the confirmation is the prominant gold signal on the falls.  What I suspect (who can be sure) is a bee pod that wasn't dead-headed on the nearby 'Black Gamecock' which sprouted a seed that is now blooming.  I vaguely remember reading, somewhere, that 'Black Gamecock' had a blue in it's parentage.

Those flowers are not I. setosa, that's definitely some kind of Louisiana iris.  Mine are just now starting to bloom as well, this week.
