It must have been a mild winter as Iris speculatrix is blooming
this year. This is barely hardy here, I'm sure it would prefer zone 7
or 8. I almost missed it as it's hiding between a couple of
hellebores. The flower is about an inch across and the scape is 5
inches tall. Native to Hong Kong and other parts of southern China.
Literature would indicate it consorts with bamboo.
