Hi Anita....Yes our own Iris Tenaxis in bloom all around the state and Yes...it usualy like a half day of shade.

 

If you keep looking  you can find colors ranging from white to orchis to red orchis to blue to purple.

found this iris about 12" alwas in shade

from nearly white to darker purple all in same clump
